What Can I Expect When I Visit First Baptist?
Visiting any church for the first time can be overwhelming. Here’s some information that might make your experience a little easier.
As you arrive: Pull right on in to our parking area. Feel free to park in any spot that is open; you won’t take another person’s spot. You may enter the building from any door, but the main entrance is on the south side closest to the main parking area.
As you enter: Our greeters will meet you with a smile and a church bulletin. If you let them know you are new, they will be glad to direct you to the rooms you need.
Sunday schedule: We have Sunday School and worship during both services at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Our 9:00 AM time is the primary Sunday School hour for children, but we have activities for kids during both hours.
For your littlest ones: During every service, we provide nursery care for infants and children up to three years old, separated by age and development to allow for a comfortable, safe place for your child to play, eat, or sleep during the service. Trained and screened workers will listen to any instructions you may have and lovingly care for your child.
What to wear: We really don’t have a dress code, so come dressed in whatever you are comfortable. Please don’t worry about this decision. You are welcome here, no matter what.
Our worship services: Since music is one of the best ways to worship God, we’ll sing some songs praising God. We try to include some traditional Christian songs alongside current, modern worship music. You probably will see someone give a few announcements about upcoming events. During the service, we also take an offering. Don’t feel obligated to give to this–it’s something for those who call First Baptist their church home to worship God through giving to His work. Finally, and most importantly, you will hear a message from God’s word.
What you’ll have to do: Absolutely nothing! You are welcome to join in during any part of the service, but do not feel obligated. If you would rather just come and sit, that is fine, too. We would love to know you were here, so we’d appreciate it if you could fill out a guest card, which is a great way to get more information. We won’t single you out or ask you to stand. Come visit First Baptist Church any time!
